Affordable Solution
Ikelite underwater housings are a popular option when you need an inexpensive solution for a high quality camera such as the Nikon 10 megapixel D200 or the 6 megapixel D100 or D70 digital SLR's. Ikelite may not have the ergonomics and optical port availability of other models, but they have certainly proved themselves with a loyal customer following and exceptional service.
Essential Control
Ikelite digital SLR housings for Nikon provide all essential camera controls. Oversized knobs and levers make operation easy with large diving gloves.
Visual Confirmation
If this is your first housing, you'll find comfort in the ability to clearly inspect your dry camera inside the housing. The transparent polycarbonate case will allow you to view the workings of the mechanical controls and periodically reassure yourself that you sufficiently cleaned your o-rings.
Lens Port Options
As a general rule, most lenses require different ports. Wide angle lenses need a dome port while macro lenses require a flat port. Optically, the Ikelite line offers great macro lens sharpness, but wide angle optics might be slightly limited based off your imaging goals. Please give us a call or email to determine the best port selection for your needs.
Use with Strobes
Ikelite housings come standard with Ikelite style strobe connectors. You'll need to use an Ikelite strobe or a special adapter to attach other brand strobes. Unfortunately, Ikelite are one of the few companies that don't offer the standard Nikonos type strobe sync port connectors as a standard or option.
